The Green Rooms Wine List

We have a comprehensive wine list supplied by Charles Hennings wine merchants of Pulborough. Various wines from around the world set to tantalise the most selective of taste with considerable thought being given to the marriage with our food. We also offer local cask ales from Horsham’s own W.J King & Co Brewers alongside other favourites.

White Wines

Cette Nuit Blanc VdP de l’Herault; France  (2) 
A crisp dry white wine for everyday drinking. Great with white meats and
fish dishes

Emiliana Sauvignon Blanc; Chile  (2)                                                     
A crisp, fresh, herbal and gooseberry scented Sauvignon Blanc with citrus
lemon and herbal flavours with a lively long finish

Ancora Trebbiano d’Abruzzo; Italy  (1)
Try something different. A great alternative to Pinot Grigio but with more flavour.
Fresh and lively unoaked white with ripe peach and citrus fruit aromas. Light and easy
to drink but with good weight and texture and some richness. The finish is crisp with a
shot of racy, zesty acidity.

Stonefish Semillon Chardonnay; Australia (4)                                    
Grassy Semillon enhanced by the fresh apricot and peach flavours of unwooded
Chardonnay. The most popular Aussie white blend

Domaine Bergon Viognier VDP d’Oc; France  (3)                                                            
Pale golden yellow with intense fruity notes of pear, peach, apricot and tropical fruits. 
Some floral, spicy and honey notes. Refreshing and lively at first then mellowing

THE LANDLORD’S SPECIAL RECOMMENDATION
Mount George White Wire; New Zealand   (3)                                                                    
A fantastic blend of unoaked Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Fresh, fruity and substantial. Ideal choice for those who like a touch of added luxury.

Rose Wines

Borsao Rosado Campo de Borja; Spain  (4)                                                     
Cool as a mountain stream. Off-dry and easy going with aromas of strawberry
jam. Beautifully balanced with soft red fruit              

Ancora Pinot Grigio Rosé; Italy  (1)                                                         
Fresh, dry Rosé from Veneto, a natural extension of Pinot Grigio popularity with
notes of raspberry, floral aromas and hints of thyme

Rosé d’Anjou; France  (7)                                                                          
A delicate refreshing medium sweet Rosé from the Loire. A favourite with the
landlady’s daughter

Sparkling Wine and Champagne

Prosecco Frimo Frizzante; Italy  (3)                                                                                      
Another success story from Italy and rapidly gaining popularity. Crisp and refreshing fine bubbles. 
Enjoy on its own, as an aperitif or with a multitude of white meats, salads, fish etc.  Very more-ish

Autreau-Roualet, Brut Reserve NV; France (1)
Champagne makers since 1670 in Champillon, a small village near Epernay, the Autreau family
takes pride in this golden fruity dry Champagne.  It is oaky, clean and snappy on the finish. Ideal for
that special occasion.

Red Wines

Cette Nuit Rouge VdP de l’Herault; France  (A)                                                 
A soft, easy drinking red wine made in the south of France. Ideal with red  meat
dishes and cheese

Panilonco Merlot; Chile  (C)                                                                       
Easy drinking soft red. Flavours of mulberry and blackberry fruit, warming, lingering
and mouth watering.  Great on its own or with steak, barbecued meats, pasta and cheese

Stonefish Shiraz Cabernet; Australia  (B)                                             
The bouquet shows fresh plum Character of Shiraz enhanced by the herbaceous
grassiness of Cabernet Sauvignon provides a medium bodied wine enhanced by
oak and tannin. Finishing clean with crisp acidity

Rooiberg Roodweyn Cabernet Merlot; South Africa  (B)                  
It is a beautiful complex wine with intense concentration of fruit with red berry flavours and a
lingering finish

Mirador Tinto Rioja;Spain  (D)                                                                                              
Intense berry flavours enhanced by vanilla oak traces, it explodes in the mouth and has an intense
finish. A fine example of traditional Rioja

THE LANDLORD’S SPECIAL RECOMMENDATION
Montes Limited Selection Pinot Noir; Chile  (C)                                                                
100% Pinot Noir from the Casablanca Valley. This wine has 6 months of aging in French oak, a very
soft filtering, strong varietal character, great complexity and deep ruby colour. The aroma is that of a
classic Pinot Noir; very floral notes with hints of violets and berries. The palate shows fine vanilla tastes
and a medium body. A very satisfying wine with a long, smooth and elegant finish.
