A garden yoga studio is the space that transforms a practice — no commute, no shared equipment, no adjusting your schedule around a class timetable. We build clean, light-filled garden studios with mirror walls, natural light and SIPs insulation that keeps them warm for early morning sessions. Designed around your practice, not a generic gym.
SIPs — Warm in Winter
Your yoga studio stays at a comfortable practice temperature year-round. SIPs insulation means the room heats quickly and holds the warmth — important for cold mornings.
Full-Length Mirror Wall
We fix full-length mirrored panels properly — framed and flush to the wall, not DIY clip-on mirrors. Essential for alignment, Pilates reformer and barre work.
Natural Light Throughout
Bifold doors or large French doors flood the room with natural light. Skylights available as an upgrade — ideal for overhead natural light during floor work.
Clean, Simple Interior
Plastered walls, smooth level floor — no unnecessary ledges, radiators or clutter. The space works for yoga because it's designed to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size do I need for a garden yoga studio?
For solo practice: 3×3m (9m²) gives enough space for a full mat with room to move around it. 4×3m is more comfortable for solo practice and lets you keep props accessible at the side. For small group classes (3–4 people): 5×4m is the practical minimum. For larger groups of 6+, 6×4m or above. We'll lay out the mat positions at the site visit so you know exactly what the space can accommodate.
What flooring works best for yoga?
For yoga and Pilates: a hardwood or engineered hardwood floor gives the ideal surface — enough grip without being too rough, and looks beautiful. For more multi-use spaces (yoga plus gym equipment): rubber tile flooring is more practical. We build the subfloor and lay the base — the floor finish is either installed by us or by your choice of flooring supplier. We'll advise on what works for your specific practice at the site visit.
Can I teach classes from a garden yoga studio?
Yes — small group classes are one of the most popular uses for garden yoga studios. You'll need to check whether running a business from your home requires any notification to your local authority, but the building itself doesn't need planning permission. Check our planning guide for the basics, and we'll discuss your specific situation at the site visit.
Do I need planning permission?
Almost certainly not. A garden yoga studio is an outbuilding like any other — Permitted Development covers single-storey structures within garden footprint limits. We confirm your exact position at the free site visit. Listed buildings and conservation areas may have different requirements.
Can I do hot yoga in a garden studio?
Yes. Hot yoga (Bikram or Baptiste-style, typically 35–40°C) needs a reliable heating system and humidity management. We'd spec a 5kW AC unit (which both heats and provides dehumidification) and ensure adequate fresh air ventilation. The SIPs construction holds heat well — which is an advantage for hot yoga. We'll design the spec around your practice.
What about connecting to the house for music and power?
We run a dedicated armoured cable from your consumer unit — enough for a quality sound system, the AC unit, lighting and any other equipment. Bluetooth speakers work well in garden studios; we can also run data cable for a hardwired connection to your home Wi-Fi for streaming. We plan the electrical spec around what you need before we start.
What Makes Us Stand Out
Every Green Rooms build uses the same premium specification — regardless of price point.
