Our Garden Pods are the ideal starting point — compact, well-built, and properly insulated garden buildings that deliver far more than the flat-pack alternatives. They strip away the non-essentials and focus on what matters: a quality structure, a proper electrical installation, and a space you'll actually want to spend time in.
Budget-Friendly Entry Point
Our most affordable structure — starting from £12,750 inc VAT. All the quality of a full garden room, right-sized for smaller gardens and budgets.
UPVC Sliding Doors
Our pods come with UPVC sliding doors as standard — the most cost-effective option and genuinely practical. Slide them open a few inches for ventilation without needing a separate window, keeping the overall cost down.
SIPs Construction
Same structural insulated panel system used in all our builds. Properly insulated, draught-free and year-round ready.
Premium Cladding Option
One wall finished in your choice of premium visual cladding. The other three in durable, zero-maintenance metal cladding.

Most Garden Pods Don't Need Planning Permission
Under Permitted Development rights, most garden pods can be built without planning permission. The main rules: the structure must be single storey, must not cover more than 50% of your garden, and must not exceed 2.5m in height within 2m of a boundary.
Exceptions apply to listed buildings, conservation areas and national parks. We'll confirm your permitted development position during the free site visit — if there's any uncertainty, we'll tell you clearly what applies.

What's the difference between a garden pod and a garden room?
A garden pod is our most compact, budget-friendly structure — designed for solo use in smaller gardens. A garden room is larger, comes with full-width aluminium bifold doors and a canopy with LED lighting as standard, and is suited to multiple uses or entertaining. Both use identical SIPs construction and a full electrical installation.
Does a garden pod need planning permission?
Most garden pods fall under Permitted Development — no planning permission required. The key rules are: the structure must not cover more than 50% of your garden, must be single storey, and must not exceed 2.5m in height within 2m of the boundary. Listed buildings, conservation areas and national parks are exceptions. We'll confirm your permitted development rights during the free site visit.
Can a garden pod be used as a home office?
Absolutely — it's the most popular use. Every pod includes a full mains electrical installation with dedicated sockets and LED lighting. We can add Cat 6a internet cabling at the build stage for a hard-wired gigabit connection — far more reliable than a WiFi extender. See our Garden Office if you need an office-optimised spec.
Can I use a garden pod all year round?
SIPs construction gives you genuine year-round insulation — warm in winter and cool in summer. Combined with a smart electric panel heater (included or easily added), a garden pod is comfortable in every season. See our climate control options for heating and cooling choices.
How big can a garden pod be?
Pods are typically built from 2.4m wide up to around 5m wide, and 2.5m–3.5m deep. Common sizes are 3×2.5m, 3.5×3m and 4×3m. We'll advise on the right size for your garden and how you plan to use it during the free site visit.
Can I upgrade a pod to have bifold doors?
Yes — aluminium bifold or French doors can be specified instead of the standard UPVC sliding doors. This typically brings the pod closer to our Garden Office specification. We'll quote both options at the design stage.
What Makes Us Stand Out
Every Green Rooms build uses the same premium specification — regardless of price point.
